Kasper Bjørke Cooks Cajun

Our wonderful friend and supporter here at Palms Out, Kasper Bjørke, who spun the fresh at the Palms Out party @ Knitting Factory on Tuesday, is getting ready to release his bone chilling album In Gumbo on Stretch‘s Plant Music on October 23rd. Once you hear it, In Gumbo will be swimming around in your head for ages. With dance floor ready songs equally as interesting as the slow headphone burners, this is the rarity in modern dance music: a truly complete album with depth and character.
As part of the Danish duo Filur for the past 10 years (along with blog darling Tomboy of Who Made Who) Kasper has more than paid his dues in dance music. He has performed all over the world with countless talented artists, both as part of Filur and as a top class DJ in his own right. Now is his time to shine on his own, and I doubt you’ll be disappointed having him around. Featured on In Gumbo are musicians that run the gamut from classic New York dance punk (Dennis Young from the legendary Liquid Liquid) to New York modern (The Pierces, Dominique from The Glass) to brilliant Danish talent (JaConfetti, Kap10Kurt) to Icelandic favorites (Blake of Gus Gus & FM Belfast). Enjoy these two amazing tracks from the album, as well as a couple of dope remixes and the video for the first single “Back & Spine”, and don’t forget to cop In Gumbo when it’s released on October 23rd. Also for those of you in New York this week, don’t miss Kasper play at least one of your favorite parties (tonight is Hiro Ballroom with The Glass and Kele from Bloc Party).
