So Serious I’m Laughin
Bill Maher made a new “New Rule” that I found interesting: “New Yorkers are no longer allowed to complain about how bad the pizza is when in cities other than New York.” Homie has a point, no doubt. I’ve definitely caught myself laughing at “New York Style Pizza” signs in other places (whatcha want me to do? I’m sorry!). But does his statement make the actual statement any less valid? You bet your pretty little minority presidential candidate it doesn’t. With that said, no offense to our good friends out there who happen to be PC users, but I’ve come up on a DELL laptop to temporarily replace my fallen mac, and I’ve gotta say, it’s just not the same. Turning a snotty and snobby nose up at the PC is hardly original, and is pretty much just an out and out annoyance at this point, but it is what it is. It’s either going to cost me absolutely nothing to get my laptop fixed, or my pride, as I can only imagine strolling around at Hunts Point in purple pleather ass-less chaps being my best fundraising option. What can I say, I didn’t make much of a petty green merchant in my teenage years. But, maybe one of you kind folks’ll will follow the puma brick road…
Alrighty- shameless plus and mac bitching aside, a real cool associate of mine Knox dropped through my office today. After schooling a couple of eager young writers about responsible journalism vs. what’s in your avg local paper, he put me up on this band that he’s been working with called the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. Turns out Haldan’s dad copped their CD recently during one of their trademark random subway gigs, and they’ve also (coincidentally) done some work with our friends over at Truth & Soul. Peep out some of their video below. I’m surprised I didn’t get up on this sooner- these cats are dope.
