Where Brooklyn At? Palms Out Catches Up With Dave Nada

Last Saturday we met up with Dave Nada in Brooklyn shortly before his set at Southpaw to ask him some questions. A few hours and several vodka tonics later we found ourselves thrusting in a mess of Park Slope partygoers. While his first round at the tables got the crowd going, the second nearly set the place on fire. Despite the smell of sweaty yuppies, the mix of old-school hip-hop, electro beats, and his ODB t-shirt brought this pair of electripsters back to the dance floor, seemingly like moths to a flame. After retrieving our shit from the coat check, we carelessly threw our jackets on the ground and formed a booty-shaking circle while Dave did his thing. As we clean the muddy footprints off of our winter garments, we can’t help but take satisfaction in knowing that we knew where Brooklyn was at last weekend.

Caribbean Islands. I’m hoping to move to Puerto Rico next summer.”

What was your most memorable show?
“Some of the best ones are hard to remember. If I had to say any, probably the show with Tittsworth up in Winnipeg to promote my EP. Doug, the promoter, brought over 800 people to the party and they were there to throw down. Tits were breaking out, whole bottle of Tanqueray, I was just a mess but I was still djing, and it was so solid. “

One of our friends wants to know what makes you sweat?
“The new Snoop Dogg video ‘Sensual Seduction’ makes me sweat.”

What are you looking forward to in the next six months?
“There’s a Chedda EP (as in cheesy remix songs) coming out. I did an ‘I Like To Movie It’ remix. Two other remixes on it are by Mano and Top Billin’.”

wayfarer, for some bk joints you can try the following: glasslands gallery, galapagos art space, rose lounge and death by audio, which is where i (rairai) met boody b for the first time.

because we are comprised of one native brooklynite and one transplant new yorker we always recommend venturing further into the borough for delicious food and fanfare. there’s so much more to brooklyn than the burg, so go neighborhood hoping for the real deal.

e-mail us at pantsYrairai@gmail.com for any other tips on all things brooklyn.
