These Are Powers
We’ve blogged about them before, but let me reiterate just how much I support Philly/New York label – RVNG Intl. After their stellar Rvng of the Nrds series of 12″s finished off with Pilooski‘s stone solid “AAA”/”OOO” - they are not sitting still for a moment. They recently released Brooklyn trio These Are Powers‘ Candyman EP. Featuring painfully engaging artwork by Kevin O’Neill and two really top notch remixes by Cosmetics and Teengirl Fantasy as well as a free download card – this is a 12″ I wouldn’t miss. I shared this before on Remix Sunday, but I thought it needs a re-post. This remix, by Costa Rica via Brooklyn duo Cosmetics, is a frantic dystopian epic- that builds slowly and ominously – until it explodes into the roar of armies marching through towers of smoke – and finally, after a relentless attack, slips back into the ether.

Incredibly ugly image! The music is prolly better though, the cosmetics remix surely is great!

Hell yea, the art def. grabs your attention for sure. I saw them in Austin and they slayed, sooo good.
