Twerk Them Feet

A couple weeks ago, my friend Don sent me a couple footwork tracks and ever since then, my feet have been going crazy. Though I may be a little late, each city has it’s own unique dance styles and if you don’t live in that city, its hard to be exposed to the culture. Just like Philly has the wu-tang (which I am still convinced is going catch on nationwide someday), Chicago has footwork and they really know how to move. Most footwork tracks are simple and similar to one another – most feature a recognizable triplet tom tom pattern. The standard tempo being around 160 bpm gives DJs a lot of liberty with their mixing. I especially love the tracks that have slow soulful vocals juxtaposed with hyper-accelerated basslines. Have fun with these tracks and don’t strain yourself too much.

Dj Spinn- “All I Feel”

DJ Roc- “I Can’t Control The Feeling”

DJ Nate- “Find Your Dreams”

DJ Diamond- “Gang Bangz”

DJ Traxxman- “Dun Dun Dun”

DJ Solo- “FootWurk Jazz”
