Hess Is More @ Glasslands

Everyone in New York needs to do themselves a favor and go to see Mikkel Hess’s Hess Is More extravaganza at Glasslands this Friday, November 4th (tomorrow, people). The band is just so so so great, and the whole show is just really entertaining. Also performing will be Xenia Rubinos and Bow Ribbons. Pick up advance tix here.
The new Hess Is More album, Creation Keeps The Devil Away, recently came out, and it’s very worth picking up. Grab it on itunes, or, if you’re feeling a little more fancy, you can pick it up as a stylish wearable playbutton music player over at playbutton.

Dubbel Dutch says…
Record high temperatures in Texas this week and I’m feeling kinda sluggish. This mix is inspired by O.G. Ron C’s F-Action mixtape series. I decided to take some of my favorite Jersey Club RnB remixes of the moment and slow em down a bit.
I feel the same way. Summer in New York is oppressive! I’m out to the northwest on Saturday, thank goodness.

Unknown to the Unknown TV

DJ Haus, also known as Unknown to the Unknown, and one half of Hot City, whose remix of Norrit’s “Only Me and U” is out on Juno now–-has recently launched unknowntotheunknown.tv –a youtube channel full of exciting bits from his production repertoire, as well as upcoming music from his label, UTTU. The stuff he’s got coming is fresh as fresh gets – future releases by Nightwave as well as our very own Dubbel Dutch. You’d be silly to miss out on this stuff – peep game!
Also, he recently recorded a label showcase mix for Native Instruments using two of their Traktor Kontrol X1 interfaces with Sample Deck Mapping. Featured in the clip is a performance of his track “Assassin” (also out on UTTU). Have a look!

The Touch – Sermon

One of our favorite Swedish outfits, The Touch – have just released a single on Kitsuné, and it’s lovely. “Sermon” is a frosted northern gem- catchy and emotive, and very satisfying for the right dance floor. Remixes come from the likes of Renaissance Man, Seekae, and Chad Valley. Hear the whole release below, and grab it at any online spot. The video is also excellent and really gratifying. It was directed and edited by Robin Günther, and art directed by Warren Teo and Johan Wahlberg, the latter of whom is a member of The Touch.
The Touch will be releasing an 12″ on Palms Out in the near future, entitled All I Find. The records will be on their way soon, with digital release to follow. Check out the artwork in the releases section.
