Scion A/V and Sound Pellegrino have put together a really stellar compilation. The sound is pretty diverse, from banger to klezmer. Proudly, it features a remix from our very own LOL Boys.

The senses tell us that Detroit is changing, and that change is in the air – sweet vibrations of sound. We have a fair number of new producers coming out of Detroit, and even our very own Melt/POS017 (coming soon) was pressed in Detroit at Archer Records.

Today, I want to share with you some new music from Phil Agosta. We’ve got a classic love affair with Inner City melded with modern production. I heard this track at DEMF and it had the floor moving. Even Kevin Saunderson himself is giving it high praise. You just can’t beat that. Tribute to Detroit is out July 20th on KGBeats.

It’s called Machines Can Do The Work and it’s a cacophony of acid licks, weird old school rave and a sample from which the track name stems. It’s been pretty big already upon its release on Skint, and the remix EP is soon to follow. The Supabeatz mix which we posted a while ago had to be taken down, but we make it up for you all now with the ever dependable Reset! remix; the guys seem to have taken a step up with this one and added a dancefloor destroying bassline to go with their ever-present ‘turbofunk’ structuring! Big big things, check it! Also, Josh asked us to let you guys know about the Cheap Thrills mailing list – and the fact that if you sign up to it you can get your mitts on an exclusive 13 track mixtape featuring a whole bunch of label stuff mixed by the man himself. Worth a peek too! Get in on the act HERE.

So here at Palms Out we’re pretty big on bigging up those big names that weren’t so big when we bigged them up back in the old days. It seems obvious here to use a previously aforementioned adjective to describe the Italian collective who we’ve supported since way back when, but we’re going to avoid it. Mainly because they’ve actually outgrown that term now and soon will be categorised as ‘massive’. We can hardly wait. With huge remixes for Cassius, Fenech Soler and Alex Metric all firmly under their belt, they have funk inspired reworkings of Fatboy Slim & Herve, Crookers and Lee Mortimer & Foamo ready to unleash. All of which are guaranteed to be huge this summer! To celebrate their new found glory; we’re giving away an exclusive new remix, an older gem and a brand new mixtape – grab them all!

Palms Out is extremely proud to announce the release of Dubbel Dutch‘s long awaited second Ep – Throwback. The three song original release has been heralded by DJs across the globe for the last couple of months, and now finally, this intrepid release has finally seen the light of day. It was recently featured as Sinden’s pick of the month in DJ Mag with a brilliant review:

“Texas’s Dubbel Dutch had better brace himself for a big year because this release should propel this promising DJ/producer to some crazy new heights. Processing the mutant sounds of UK funky, the grey areas of future garage and house with bass, Dubbel has successfully turned them all on their head and created his own unique spin. ‘Throwback‘ is beautifully funky with its Baltimore club-style drums rolling straight from the first bar. A deep sub b-line and edited diva vocals entice before hitting you with the ultimate payoff. The flip, ‘Deep Underground‘, is more synth driven – equally futuristic and amazing. 5 Stars. ”

Pick up the limited edition 12″ from Phonica & Rubadub.
Out now on beatport, itunes, juno, turntablelab, and many more.

Here’s what some people have been saying about Throwback EP:

Bok Bok: “I can’t stop playing Deep Underground, massivest tune right now!!!”

Kingdom: “The mixing and compression on Throwback are so nice. Chopped diva vocals and clean sub-bass. I love the drifting cool-down moment in this track too, and when the breakbeat kicks back in, you know you need to brace yourself for a huge drop. Love it!!”

DJ Rupture: “Deep Underground combines the catchy familiarity of an instant anthem with real nice contemporary production flourishes that put it squarely in nostalgia-free 2010. Plus, good snare placement. Big tune!”

Drop The Lime: “This is a gigantic release. I love the oldschool jungle vibes brought in with a dubstep slam! I will definitely drop this in sets. Really feeling “Fool In You”. HUGE one!”

Julio Bashmore: “Big track, Big!”

Egyptrixx: “My favorite release from Marc so far, extremely innovative. Deep underground is a total anthem.”"

Baobinga: “Deep Underground sounding nice!”

Mosca: “Tune is saying alot, can’t get a word in edgeways! … def spinning this.”

Renaissance Man: “the DD tunes rock. Strong EP”

Tomb Crew: “This is fucking wicked!!!! Big up- both tunes on this EP are incredible, everything thats exciting about music right now.”

Chrissy Murderbot: “Awesommmmmmme :D :D :D”

NGUZUNGUZU: “THANX for these bangerzzz! sooooo gooood! much love!”

DJ Donna Summer: “Fucking AWESOME!”

Ghosts on Tape: “super ill. this shit is killin it. loving the old school vibe mixed with UK funky riddims.”

Mommas Boy: “Very cool.”

Jillionaire (Mad Decent): “I LOVE THIS”

Kastle (B.Rich): “so good man! i’ve been playing the hell out of Throwback and Deep Underground. I actually put them both on my kastle scion mix that will air in June. This is seriously one of the best EPs I’ve heard all year. I love every single track!”

AC Slater: “Amazing release, really deep and bassy, sounding both classic and fresh. Will definitely be playing these.”

Udachi: “This release as a whole really solidifies him as an artist, great music to dance or to listen to!”

Detboi: “Really lovin this.”

The Touch: “the Dubbel Dutch EP is magnificent. I’ve listened to it non stop since I got it. Deep Underground is a future classic.”

Palms Out is proud to announce the release of Marcus Price & Carli‘s EP entitled Mat Bira Kvinnor Weed (Swedish for “Food Beer Women Weed,” some things obviously being universal.) The title track is a bouncy ride for your backside – sub bass booming, skittering whistles, booty bumps and scratched robot voices for days. On the flip is “Var E Näääken” (which translated mean “Where is Näääken”, Näääken being their formerly incarcerated home boy) which delves even deeper into bass cabinet destruction. Huge 808s, persistent snares, and shuffling shakers make for a huge party starter.

The remix line-up for this EP couldn’t be more exciting or satisfying. Boomkat describes the remixes for the 12″ release: “Kingdom does his rugged NY-meets-London thing with jolts of Ballroom house and thick subs, Dubbel Dutch hit the money with G-funked synths atop an electro-housey steamer, Bok Bok works up his stinging neon synths and Girl Unit massively impresses with a boldly futuristic production sheen.” 2 bonus remixes are included with the digital release, a sharp as nails electrified bashment rendition of “Mat Bira Kvinnor Weed” by Swedish newcomers Crazy Pays- as well as a beefy old-school percussive house mix of “Var E Näääken” by Kansas’ Norrit aka. Iggybaby. Brilliant artwork and design for the release by alowething

–

The response so far has been tremendous! It’s currently #1 on Juno‘s UK Funky/Garage charts, #6 overall; and its burning up Beatport as well.

Here’s what people are saying about the EP:

Mat Bira Kvinnor Weed is a maaasssive tune. that hook messes with my head every time, sucking you down and down forcing you to wiggle and wag. – Drop The Lime (Trouble & Bass)

This release is gonna be huge. Full support. – L-Vis 1990 (Night Slugs, Mad Decent, Sound Pellegrino)

The ridiculous remixer lineup does a great job of taking the originals in their own perspective directions, however, the original version of ‘Var E Naaaken’ is still the highlight on this release. That tune is straight dancefloor. – Starkey (Planet Mu, Seclusiasis)

I’m loving this! Love the originals the most – really really good! this is my new favorite new thing. – Teki Latex (Sound Pellegrino, Institubes, TTC) – (also charted the whole EP at #1 for May 2010)

Big fan of the M. Price and Carli tracks! originals over remixes. – Renaissance Man (dubsided, Kitsune)

Really neat! – Roska (Rinse)

This release is huge. cant pick which remixes to play! the original of Var E Näääken is so dope! – AC Slater (Trouble & Bass, Party Like Us)

A totally fresh and characteristic record, really strong throughout. Love it – Egyptrixx (Night Slugs, RAMP)

Robotic dancehall that never loses its propulsive steam… each sound working with the other to make a song that would fit perfectly on just about any dancefloor. – XLR8R

THE BEAT is coming around again to keep NYC moving to our tempo. After an amazing debut the Beat goes on at Fat Baby (112 Rivington St., NYC) – exclusively on Palms Out we present THE BEAT Vol 3 side A + B to keep you on your feet; need I say literally? The House of Stank DJs are joining our own DJs Nita, Michael Magnan, and The Palms Out Crew. Word is Erickatoure Aviance had so much fun as a guest host she’s come back to do it again. We like to keep it simple; NO COVER and a late start that takes you straight to the point: DANCE. We’re here to move YOU. And “you” does refer to EVERYONE. Last time we had a completely mixed crowed and what’s more? They were all dancing – TOGETHER. Think you can get into that?
