Belgium has always punched way over it’s weight in the music world; with Soulwax and Aeroplane flying the electronic flag in recent years. The latest wave of production talent to emerge from the heart of the European Union are people like Sound of Stereo, Highbloo and today’s bloggees Geht’s Noch. A quick look at their myspace will show you that; far from being new to the game – these guys have been at the forefront of the Belgian scene for a couple of years and are consistently playing huge parties. They’ve already seen an EP released on Level 75 (featuring a Congorock remix, no less) do super well, and their latest offering won’t disappoint either. ‘Horny EP’, with a remix from fellow Belgian and Boys Noize records member Keatch, have been firmly in our CD wallets for a while now; check out the original track and a mixtape!

Party Like Us Records just released a remix EP of B. Dim Mak’s Autoerotique flip it big room style with really cool UK Funky influenced percussion that builds into a bass heavy frenzy. Newcomer J. In the weird tradition of B. Rich remixes I’ve done I went out of my element again on “Bump”, this time going for a bouncy techno vibe.
We think it’s important that we keep you lovely people up to date with what the Palms Out family is doing in it’s quest for global domination, and to big up the shows that stand out on our collective calendars. A quick perusal of the dates of our bass heavy brederin AC Slater will tell you that he’s currently tearing up dancefloors in the UK – and we’re massively excited to be joining forces with him in a Palms Out hijacking of one of the Isle’s favourite nights – Sugarbeat Club! Ran by Utah Saints; the night has already played host to Soulwax, Felix da Housecat and DJ Ca$h Money, and a whole host more – and next Friday sees AC and Calvertron smashing up room 1, whilst Urchins stake a claim to room 2 for the long haul. Come down and show us some love! Click the link below to get the full info.

Lithuania is not a country that you generally hear much about. A quick check of a generic online encyclopedia will tell you a fair bit about the former Soviet ties and subsequent independence, along with the fact that Vilnius is currently a very deserving ‘European Capital of Culture’. What it sadly doesn’t tell you is about the underground music scene that has been bubbling away for the past couple of years – powered largely by Metal on Metal, The Sneekers and Aout6. The latter has recently released a debut EP, Stolen Stylophone; which has gained some heavy support from a diverse range of DJ’s from Larry Tee through to DJ Zinc. We’re pleased to offer you three of those tracks, including a fairly tech heavy effort from Tom EQ.

Summer is a season of holiday romances; whether you wake up confused as to what exactly is lying next to you in your hotel room, or spend a sunset staring into each others eyes spouting nonsense about “being the one” – we’ve almost all been there in some respect. Example thinks that it’s sunsets and beaches that seem to tease the words “I love you” out of the most stubborn mouths, and the subject of his latest assault on the world reflects this well!

After stepping into the big leagues with the success of ‘Hooligans’, our boy has found himself working with the hitmaking team ‘Metrophonic’ and also the man who can almost definitely guarantee you a number one record right now; Calvin Harris. ‘Watch The Sun Come Up’ is deservedly going to be huge; we’re sure you’ve heard it all over every Radio station and holiday resort this summer, so we don’t need to talk about the catchy chorus and melodic keys; but now we’re offering up the EXCLUSIVE first listen of the remixes! If you had to pick the hottest remixer in both the disco and dubstep scenes right now, chances are you’d pick these two. Fred Falke and Joker & Ginz are sure-fire choices for even the most discerning genre follower – and these mixes only add to the ridiculously consistent body of work produced by both. Joker remix is just sillllllly good!! Get on them….

Far from being a surprise; the success was pretty much a given – everything that these two put is solid and uber-playable, by pretty much any DJ. It wasn’t their first chart-topper either; ‘Head Trick’ was among the top 8 most downloaded tracks on Beatport during 2008, and remains one of the safest bets in my CD wallet. Synonymous with Chicago label Potty Mouth, our boys are heading down under for a much anticipated series of dates in Australia, and are following that up with a trip over to Europe in Autumn. Their mix demonstrates the maturity that is so evident in their music, taking in jazz, funk and a bunch more before returning to some tried and tested summer house bangers, it can only be….SANTIAGO & BUSHIDO!!

Our latest mix comes from a couple of guys who have swiftly become one of the most respected duos since peas and carrots; knocking up a number of critically acclaimed EP’s on Boys Noize Records before firmly stamping their name on the electronic music world with the hugely successful and equally imaginative ‘Golden Traxe’ LP. The influences on display throughout this mix are outrageously diverse; spanning DJ Krush to Squarepusher, via Peter Gabriel (obviously)…which is unsurprising when the mix comes in at an evening-filling 150 minutes! Fresh from dates in the Far East, the perennially busy pairing found time to put together a wonderfully crafted and well thought out soundtrack to a lazy summer evening….sit down, be patient on the DL (it’s worth it) and enjoy SHADOW DANCER!!

FOR REASONS THAT WILL SOON BECOME APPARENT; WE’VE HAD TO CHANGE THE LINKED FILE WITH THE ORIGINAL ZIP THAT SHADOW DANCER SENT US. We’ll get things back up and running behind the scenes as soon as possible, and will let y’all know the problems even sooner. Enjoy!

I’ve never actually been there; but lets be honest it’s a bit too cool for school; millions of brilliant beaches, a seemingly never ending supply of ‘festivals’ and a gang of musicians / producers steadily taking over the world. I was even going to draw some blood by discussing the fact that it’s nearly winter over there now, whilst we’re hitting the dizzy heights of 18′c…but it turns out it’s still 30′c over there. Which makes it even more obscene that people like Adamwah are able to make music. As one third of Destroy Disco, he has been part of one of the most consistent names in the industry for a couple of years now and that looks set to continue on through our ‘summer’ (which might, for the UK, be quite an ironic term again this year). Adamwah is a new alias that is showing a more techy & progressive side – leaving the banger nature of Destroy Disco behind but incorporating the production quality for which he has become famed. The fact that he can find time within his schedule to knock out tracks of this quality alongside other top notch bits leads me to conclude that, despite their share of lovely weather and scenery; all these people spend too much time in a studio – rendering them pastier than me. I’ll just keep telling myself that…
