Palms Out is proud to announce the release of Marcus Price & Carli‘s EP entitled Mat Bira Kvinnor Weed (Swedish for “Food Beer Women Weed,” some things obviously being universal.) The title track is a bouncy ride for your backside – sub bass booming, skittering whistles, booty bumps and scratched robot voices for days. On the flip is “Var E Näääken” (which translated mean “Where is Näääken”, Näääken being their formerly incarcerated home boy) which delves even deeper into bass cabinet destruction. Huge 808s, persistent snares, and shuffling shakers make for a huge party starter.

The remix line-up for this EP couldn’t be more exciting or satisfying. Boomkat describes the remixes for the 12″ release: “Kingdom does his rugged NY-meets-London thing with jolts of Ballroom house and thick subs, Dubbel Dutch hit the money with G-funked synths atop an electro-housey steamer, Bok Bok works up his stinging neon synths and Girl Unit massively impresses with a boldly futuristic production sheen.” 2 bonus remixes are included with the digital release, a sharp as nails electrified bashment rendition of “Mat Bira Kvinnor Weed” by Swedish newcomers Crazy Pays- as well as a beefy old-school percussive house mix of “Var E Näääken” by Kansas’ Norrit aka. Next up is the first release from label-boss Jason Forrest/DJ Donna Summer since his much lauded album 2 years ago. It’s an EP of 5 very different forays into the depths of heavy bass and house. With as much weird as bang on the EP- this is a dance record that doesn’t only belong on the floor. Comes with a MONSTER of a remix from Bok Bok- that lights up the floor, no joke.

The video for the title track got me all nostalgic for the old New York.

I shared this before on Remix Sunday, but I thought it needs a re-post. This remix, by Costa Rica via Brooklyn duo Cosmetics, is a frantic dystopian epic- that builds slowly and ominously – until it explodes into the roar of armies marching through towers of smoke – and finally, after a relentless attack, slips back into the ether.

I am pleased to announce the next release on Palms Out Sounds. This time up, it’s the Danish duo, Baba Black, the meaner and harder side of the expert team known as Lulu Rouge- whom I’ve written about numerous times.

After receiving 8/10 in NME for the debut Lulu Rouge album, and having already released official remixes for the likes of Trentemøller, Moby, Fagget Fairys, Camille Jones, Blank & Jones, Kasper Bjørke, among others — & having been included on compilations like Global Underground, BBC Blue Sessions, Costes, & Buddha Bar — it is now finally time to release the beast that is Baba Black.

Harder, grittier, and dirtier than it’s red counterpart, Baba Black is a monster that is difficult to tame. The debut EP, Sheep, features two stompers – “Dirty Sheep” on the A side, a growly piece of tech-house that boasts a mean bassline and fires sharp disco hi-hats and squeaky stabs incessantly. “Clean Sheep” on the flip, is a slightly lighter experience, but not a sleeper by any means. Also featuring a big persistent bassline and loads of Scandinavian atmosphere, this time it’s countered by icy reverb’ed stabs and huge tension building rises.

Kasper Bjørke just sent over the video for his intensely romantic new single, “Young Again”. Created by the artist collective, FORTUNE- the clip is a gorgeous take on Kasper’s musical aesthetic- docile androgynous boys and girls, Scandinavian nature abound, and feline temptation. The single, which features vocals from Jacob Bellens of I Got You On Tape, drops today on beatport and on vinyl, and is the first single from his next record, Standing on top of Utopia. Remixes from the notorious Serge Santiago, Lopazz & Zarook, as well as Whomadewho & Tomboy.

Kasper Bjørke – “Young Again” (WhoMadeWho & Tomboy Remix) (Radio Edit)

Giana Factory is the best new band in Copenhagen. Not only is their music just what all ears are begging for right now, it’s also so different than all the hyped-ip bands of the moment. I see big things for these 3 ladies from Denmark. They just released an EP entitled Bloody Game on Danish imprint, Music For Dreams (also home to Lulu Rouge & Fagget Fairys among others) with four short, gorgeous songs. The EP was produced by the girls themselves, but mixed by Thomas Barford of Tartelet fame.

All four songs straddle the middle ground between love songs and hate songs. They all remind me of hurting the one I love, and of that certain coldness and distance I sometimes feel toward my lovers, especially when I begin to feel vulnerable, or when they become too vulnerable.

The video for the first single, “Trippin’” was directed by the OhMaryMary team, responsible for such masterpieces as JaConfetti’s “Step Up” & The Raveonettes’ “Aly Walk With Me”. OhMaryMary is Stine & Loui, Loui is also the lead singer in Giana Factory, as well as sisters with Sharin Foo (of the Raveonettes), and cousins with Lei Foo (of Ladybox). Thank goodness for Loui & her big apartment, where I lived for like 5 months last year.

Enjoy the title song from the EP, Bloody Game. Then go buy the whole thing on itunes, it’s so so worth it.

I’m very excited to present to you all the world premiere of the new Peaches video for, in my opinion, her best song ever- “I Feel Cream” – it’s everything I love in a electronic based pop song. Epic chord progressions, cooing vocals, and nice rubbery synths. The single release of “I Feel Cream” will be out the 10th of November, with remixes from Proxy, Larry Tee, & Cory Enemy, the latter of which we also have for you to download. Until then you can get the original track by buying her album. The video, directed by Kinga Burza, is a good accompaniment for the song- with references to late 90s dance music, and club lighting galore. Peaches has still got it.
